WEDDING CARD BOX

I made this wedding card box out of a hat box, it had an indian looking design on the box which I wanted but it was not the wedding colors, so this is what I did to make it my own.  I think you can do this to any box for any ocassion.

The box with the original color without the lid.

I traced the designs with a glue pen from Martha stewart crafts.
Now sprinkle the fuschia micro fine glitter on the areas you wanted to be fuschia , then I did the areas which I wanted gold next. You have to do one area at a time otherwise the glue will dry.
This is how the box looked when I was all done.

Next I spray painted the lid with gold paint and cut a slit for the cards with an exacto knife. After it was all dry I embellished the opening to make it look pretty.

Next I fixed a velvet ribbon to the top edge of the box with a glue gun and a bow and a rhinestone .

I think it turned out pretty. You can make your own using any kind of box and if you are artistic you can draw your own designs as well.

It looks fantastic! SO do you use this to store wedding invitation cards? or ?

starry said...

Thank you Mary Grace.sorry I had not left my email address. It is lalitha5353@gmail.com

Mystic rose..thanks.It is a box that is usually made to co ordinate with the wedding theme and colors and is placed at the reception area so people can drop off cards for the bridal couple.sometimes the cards may include checks or money so this way it is kept safe.
